An Apollo + Muse 4-Way

Patrick is also an accomplished theorist and composer. Many of his works have been played in Seattle, by various groups and individuals. He is particularly interested in using music as a means of non-verbal communication through Morse code, letterism and phonemes.

Recent works include the short Typography, which is literally a typography project but also a piece of music loosely based on Morse code for its rhythms. Eventually, Patrick will finish the alphabet, thus having a large California Case of letter-derived motives to choose from.

The immediate predecessor of Typography is Love Song, a solo work for bassoon or bass clarinet during which the performer is called upon to maintain a virtuosic pace while struggling to find his/her next letter-motif on a 36 inch square sheet.

Patrick has played bass and guitar (and drums, too!) for many bands over many years.

He's a Renaissance man. Like that Leonardo di Caprio guy from the old days. --Anonymous thrilled reviewer.
